For Immediate Release
Barry Hennings, recently named President and COO of John S. Clark Company, LLC announced today the promotion of Kevin B. Hennings, P.E., LEED AP to replace him as Executive Vice President of the Mount Airy Division. Kevin will also replace Barry as Vice President of Design, Inc of NC, Clark’s wholly owned subsidiary.
Kevin is a graduate of NC State University with Bachelor of Science Degrees in Chemical Engineering and Textile Chemistry. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in NC and SC and is a LEED Accredited Professional.
Barry Hennings said, “Kevin brings the experience gained from a long list of successfully completed projects to his new position, including the management responsibility for the company’s largest ever fast track, design/build industrial project. Kevin’s knowledge, dedication and ability to understand the owner’s objectives resulted in the selection of JSClark by Swedwood Manufacturing to design and build their first North American facility; a 900k SF, $35M furniture manufacturing and distribution project in Danville, VA”.
In addition to Kevin’s skills directly related to managing industrial projects, he has also provided leadership to his staff of Project Managers which is essential to the growth and development of the company. In his current role as Vice President of Technical Services, he frequently works with other Project Managers, solving problems, brainstorming technical issues and developing solutions. He was one of the first in the company to recognize the value of being LEED Accredited and he continues to encourage others to seek this important designation. He was the Senior Project Manager on the first LEED Certified industrial project completed in the region; CK Technologies in Mount Airy.
JSClark Chairman, Richard Vaughn added that “without Kevin’s relationships with major international equipment manufacturers, we would not have been selected for many of the manufacturing projects on our resume such as Avgol, Kordsa, Parkdale Mills and multiple projects for Unifi. I know he will be successful in his new role and I will be counting on him to grow his division even in these uncertain economic times.”
Kevin said, “I am looking forward to the challenge of leading the largest division within JSClark and to expanding our design/build capabilities in industrial markets. Our value to our customers includes the flexibility to provide a single source solution with in-house design as well as the ability to work with the owner’s designers and engineers to reach the ultimate objective; a facility that accomplishes the owner’s objectives.”
